The required syllabus content for writing the standardized 3rd Class Power (Operating) Engineering exams and the practical work content is included in this course. Students will solve problems and explain concepts involving material stresses, bending of beams, simple machines and fluids, properties and applications of metallic and non-metallic materials. The mechanisms that cause corrosion and the methods used to monitor and control corrosion are studied with practical applications that occur in the power industry. Finally, a complete study of engineered drawings used in industry including construction, P & ID drawings and bill of materials.
