This course introduces students to the basic concepts of boiler console operation through the use of simulation software. The P&IDs will be used to determine the operation of different plant components and systems. Students will be able to simulate and troubleshoot the operations of a gas fired steam boiler. The what-if logic is incorporated in order to identify and interpret plant operations. Using standard industry three-way communication students will develop the ability to interpret and complete a given task. The importance of key performance indicators will also be introduced.
