Industrial Controls | St. Clair College
Course Code
PSE1003
Course Credit

This course provides an advanced-level of study of industrial controls, as related to the field of power engineering. Students learn the principle, design, application, and limitations of different control systems used to realize monitoring and control of modules in a power plant, such as Distributed Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers, boiler feedwater control systems, and superheated and reheated steam temperature control systems. Students will learn to distinguish between a variety of electrical and electronic devices, which are used to measure pressure, temperature, flow, and liquids. Modes of automatic control and control valves will be discussed.
