This course explores the role that codes of ethics play in the self-regulation of the pharmacy profession as opposed to direct regulation of the profession by the legislature. The components of typical codes of professional ethics will be examined and students will learn how the provisions of the code are enforced and the impact they have on society. It will introduce students to core ethical issues within the pharmacy profession and provide the opportunity to discuss and evaluate foundation concepts of these codes of ethics
