The student will practice receiving and accurately reading physicians orders and the actual clinical record of a patient, and/or the transcription of a verbal order to the nurse by a physician. They will prepare drugs for delivery to patients according to a variety of systems and hospital policies and procedures. The student will be introduced to various prepackaging systems used in the hospital setting. Medical terminology will be emphasized. The student will manage pharmacy inventory and promote safe medication practices.
