The purpose of this course is to enable the student to integrate theories of management into their health care practice. This course will elaborate on the concepts of professionalism, communication and health care models. Strategies of assigning/directing, delegating, supporting and coaching will be analyzed using scenarios. Management theories will provide the framework for effective decision-making. Students will learn how to select and apply research findings to support their practice. The role of professional organizations will be examined. This course will facilitate autonomous decision-making in professional practice.
