This course is designed for the health care professional who needs a refresher in basic principles of pharmacology. The common pharmacological agents will be briefly reviewed according to action, use, effect and administrative responsibilities. This course is an overview and not a repeat of an introductory pharmacology course. Pharmacology math and fundamentals of medication administration (oral, parenteral, and skin & mucous membranes) will be presented in a laboratory or simulated clinical setting. An actual clinical experience is not included in this course.
