This course is designed for Pre-graduate Practical Nursing students. The purpose of this course is to enable the student to integrate theories of management into their practice. This course will elaborate on the concepts of professionalism, communication and nursing theories. Strategies of assigning/directing, delegating, supporting and coaching will be analyzed using nursing scenarios. Management theories will provide the framework for effective decision-making in nursing. Students will learn how to use research to support their practice. This course will support the pre-graduate role transition and facilitate autonomous decision-making and practice.
