In this course the student will apply theory and skills learned in Semester I, II and III. The student will use problem solving, critical thinking, the nursing process, principles of therapeutic communication in selected community clinical experiences, case studies and care of clients in lab/community placements. Students will demonstrate accountability and professional conduct. The student will use selected assessment tools and evaluate client outcomes. The student will demonstrate nursing competencies required to give quality care in the community. The student will focus on therapeutic communication with clients and the health team to ensure continuity of care and provide teaching to individuals/groups based on health needs assessment. The student will consult with other professionals and act as an advocate for clients/families.
