This course explores the role that codes of ethics play in the self-regulation of various professions as opposed to direct regulation of the professions by the legislature. The components of typical codes of professional ethics will be examined and students will learn how the provisions of the code are enforced and the impact of the codes on society. It will enhance the student's understanding of core ethical issues within their chosen profession and provide the opportunity to discuss and evaluate foundational concepts of professional codes of ethics.
