Plastics Tooling I

In a simulated workshop setting the student is introduced to the machining procedures involved in produced plastic injection or compression moulds. Applying theory from the co-requisite course PLB 308, the student will perform special machining operations to produce selected moulds. Emphasis is also placed upon learning appropriate interpersonal conduct and safety practices for workshop settings. Field trips provide an opportunity for students to relate observed industrial standards to their shop performance.
