This course is designed for the student to apply trade related mathematics on the jobsite or shop. The importance of reading and understanding measuring tools for both imperial and metric scales will be demonstrated. Basic math functions, fractions and decimals will be reviewed including conversion of Imperial and SI units. Finding square root by the manual method as well as by calculator will be shown. Linear measurement of pipe and fittings, calculation of fitting allowance and "reading a fitting" will be demonstrated. Calculations of various offsets including 90º, 45º, 60º and "rolling 45º" will be practiced using Pythagoras and/or Trigonometry.
