This course will give students an understanding of various theories of crime, criminal behaviour, and participants in a criminal event. It will include examination of theories detailing crime and it's causes, the criminal and his/her social conditions as well as theories of motivation, crime prevention and consequences of crime. Victimization and victim characteristics will be examined in detail.
