This course will encompass different methods and techniques for understanding cultural differences; dealing with patients/clients/colleagues, and spoken techniques with or without an interpreter. Through lectures, class simulations and film, the student will practice appropriate situational assessment and behavioural skills. An investigation of local services available in the community will be part of student training. Emphasis will be placed on empathetic interaction with patient/clients/colleagues.
