The purpose of this course is to build on the professional office skills introduced in Professional Computer Applications. Students will focus on building basic competency in the professional use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access to create a variety of business documents. Emphasis is on practice to achieve mastery level in each competency taught within the course. In-class Simulation Labs are mandatory and form a major component of the course syllabus. A major focus in the labs will be to identify how these applications can be used within the professional office setting to maximize efficiency in documentation creation and management. Students will also be introduced to the concept of selecting the appropriate tool for a specific office task.
