The purpose of this course is to build computer skills designed for the office professional. In this introductory level course, students will be introduced to basic computer terminology, Windows operations including use of Microsoft Explorer, as well as basic functionality in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint applications. Emphasis is on practice to achieve mastery level in each competency taught within the course. In-class Simulation Labs are mandatory and form a major component of the course syllabus. A major focus in the labs will be to identify how these applications can be used within the professional office setting to maximize efficiency in documentation creation and management. Integration of Word and PowerPoint for use within a modern automated environment is also introduced.
