This course is a study of the computer and electronic principles and systems. Use of diagnostic electrical test equipment is a maj or component of this course. Distributorless ignition systems, computer controlled charging systems, and electrical options will be discussed in great detail. An in-depth knowledge of gasoline fuel injection diagnosis and repair and the resulting emission control diagnosis and repair is essential for success in this course. Electronic diesel fuel injection is becoming more commonplace and a strong understanding of the operation of these systems will aid the technician to be prepared for when these vehicles are delivered to the repair shop for service. Passive and supplemental restraint systems will be a substantial component of this course.
