This course is a study of the basic suspension and braking systems. Included in the study are frames, suspension systems, wheel and tire assemblies and basic braking systems. Studies progress from an overview and operational principles to specific functions of disc/drum system elements and related components. Laboratory sessions involve on-vehicle steering, suspension and brake identification, inspecting and servicing of components. Vehicle loading and weight transfer dynamics will be examined.
