This course provides the practical and academic skills, involving decimal fractions, that the adult learner will need both in future mathematics classes and future employment. The course topics are self-paced in a math lab and supported by twice weekly lectures / workshops. Topics include: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of decimal fractions, finding area and circumference of a circle, converting common fractions to decimals and decimals to common fractions, square roots and the Pythagorean theorem.
