This course is designed to introduce the learner to the basic concepts and applications of statistics and probability. General topics include the collection and summarizing of data using graphs and frequency tables, measures of central tendency and measures of position of sample data, basic rules of probability, binomial, Poisson and normal distributions, central limit theorem and sampling distributions of means and proportions, confidence intervals of means, proportions and variances, hypothesis testing, inferences from two samples, and regression-correlation analysis.
