The intermediate level apprentice will examine the function, component parts, skill in the use of holding devices, accessories, cutting tools and machining operations on the milling machine;, an ability to identify, select and install the appropriate transmission system and/or components for a specific application;, knowledge of the types and practice in the applications and maintenance of compressors and ancillary equipment;, knowledge of the types, applications and maintenance of pumps, valves and piping and ancillary equipment;, knowledge to select, install and maintain friction and rolling element bearings, and static and dynamic seals;, to be able to interpret ISO charts and bearing catalogues.
