This course is a study of the basic front-end and brake systems. Included in this study are, frames, suspension systems, steering gears, and wheel and tire assemblies, from concepts and theories to alignment factors, angles and steering geometry. Brake-system studies progress from an overview and operational principles to specific functions of drum and disc brake system elements and related components. Laboratory sessions involve on-vehicle steering, suspension and brake system identification, inspecting and overhouling brake components.
