This course will introduce the student to the overall concept of how data is created and transferred from the 3D model of the part cavity and core to PC based software., Part creation utilizing solid modeling will be incorporated. Students will utilize various translators to export and import data in to PC based CAD software from which a 2D mold design will be created. Students will be required to develop various levels of the mold design, which will include: a hot drop manifold system, hydraulic ejection, hydraulic piece part coring, slide and lifter. The final project submission will be a complete mold design that meets industrial standards.
