Course Code
MET607
Course Credit

This course is an introduction to the FEA method and the FEA software. It involves an application of the FEA software to simulate and analyze simple and intermediate problems. Topics include the theory of finite element methods and the logical sequence of steps to develop and analyze computer models using FEA software. Steps include, Preprocessing (Model Geometry, Element Type, Real Constants, Material Properties, Meshing), Solution/Analysis (Analysis Type, Constraints, Loads, Solution), Postprocessing (Results, Plots, Graphs, Reports).
