This course is designed to introduce the learner to the field of Ergonomics, including how to design the work task, tools and machine interface so that the individual can perform safely, efficiently and with satisfaction. Topics to be covered include the mechanical structure of the human body, how the mind works, how the body interacts with the environment, work schedules and work station design. Course material will consider the human characteristics, expectations and behaviors in the design of things that people use in their work and everyday lives, and of the environment in which they work and live.
