The tool engineering process entails the release and coordination of specific information to the build of the tool. The highly organized tool engineer in the plastics field has to be knowledgeable of tool designs and tool build operations in order to make recommendations that would assure the success of end product. The tool engineer is responsible for the coordination of product changes and tool build issues between the customer and tool manufacturing facilities in a timely fashion. Students will study requested engineering changes made to product and tooling designs and will develop systematic approaches to resolving issues.
