This course will focus on techniques for developing core and cavity halves of the mold., Students will study basic surfacing techniques and will use the combination of modeling and surfacing techniques to develop an integral lock system between the cavity and core half of the mould. The process will include part analysis to determine part moldablity and the addition of mechanisms such as slides and lifters that, are required to free features that are not within the line of mould draw. Areas of study will include the study of basic sheet bodies, advanced solid modeling techniques, assemblies and basic drafting.
