Mould Design I

This will introduce the principles of plastic injection mold design in a simulated workshop setting. Students will be using PC Cad systems to prepare a mold layout consisting of parting lines, part geometry and locking angles of simple product design. Students will be required to design a mold using standard mold components. The design will be complete including all dimensioning and notations required for the manufacture of the mold. Emphasis is placed on the development of teamwork and communication skills.
