Inspection Methods - CMM | St. Clair College
Course Code
MET481
Course Credit
3

Reading gauges such as micrometers, vernier calipers and dial gages, etc. form the foundation of this course. These gauges varify data from which manufacturing processes are developed and evaluated. Included is a brief history of measurement and standards. Inspection techniques for size and geometry will be covered. A working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing will be covered. Attribute gauging and non-destructive testing techniques will be discussed. Students will have the opportunity to measure the sizes and geometries of a work piece and compare their data to engineering drawings using a Coordinate Measuring Machine. Throughout the course, emphasis will be placed on precision and error assessment.
