This course is designed to provide the student/learner with an overview of existing relevant Acts, regulation policies and laws that pertain to the promotion and encouragement of workplace health and safety. Topics will include a focus on the responsibilities of employers, employees and all involved professions referred to in such legislation as the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Industrial Regulations, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act and the role of the Ministry of Labour in both Provincial and Federal jurisdictions. Also included in this course will be Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and masculo-skeletal Injury Prevention Program training in detail.
