Throughout the course, emphasis will be placed on developing basic skills in interpreting two- dimensional drawings representing true three-dimensional parts. Participants will develop, through hands-on applications, introductory skills in the use of drafting instruments to prepare graphical representations of manufactured parts. The student will prepare one, two and three view drawings of parts on a two-dimensional plan using standard manual drafting techniques. Included is dimensioning, treatment of inclined, oblique and curved surfaces, conventions in drawing sectional views of machine parts and thread and fastener representations.
