Students will be introduced to the microorganisms found in the environment, especially the characteristics and anatomy of the bacterial cell and its host/parasite relationships. To be included are the factors involved in virulence and infectious processes, sterilization and disinfection theory and principles, and the maintenance of equipment used for sterilization.
