An orientation to the role and ethical responsibilities of the Medical Laboratory Technologist, to accepted procedures for the safe handling of specimens, reagents and equipment, and to the theoretical principles and applications of various types of microscopy. Proper use and care of the light microscope and other selected manual skills will be practised with an emphasis on safety and organization.
