This course is designed to provide the student with an understanding of herbaceous annual, biennial, perennial, tender / hardy bulbs, vegetable and herb culture in the outdoor environment. Proper soil conditions and amendments, planting and maintenance will be discussed. Designing with herbaceous plants will be included and a field trip and planning labs will demonstrate the importance of utilizing space. This is a lecture / lab based course.
