Students examine all aspects of Family Law theory as it relates to provincial and federal legislation. Focus will be on the Family Law Act, Children's Law Reform Act, Child and Family Services Act, Family Responsibility and Support Arrear's Enforcement Act and the Divorce Act. This course examines marriage and common law unions and then reviews all legal issues that arise upon the dissolution of such relationships including Divorce and other issues such as custody, access, support, division of property, the matrimonial home and rights to possession, marriage contracts and separation agreements. Finally it focuses on other incidental legislation dealing with adoption, child protection and enforcement/variation of Court Orders.
