Students will write and report on stories from a variety of beats including politics, education, courts and crime, health and science, arts and culture, sports, automotive and business. They will write hard news and soft news stories, human interest and feature stories. The beat reporter's familiarity with a sector and its players provides insight crucial to spotting trends, assessing the motives and agendas of decision makers and reliably tracking inside developments shaping public or corporate policies.
