The course presents challenges and opportunities for development with either a media organization or in a public relations capacity involving media-related work. The emphasis of this course is hands-on learning, which allows the student to work under supervision in the field. This course allows the student the ability to make industry contacts. The student will actively participate in the selection of the field placement site and in the ongoing monitoring process. The evaluation will focus on the candidate's ultimate suitability for media-related employment. This will be evaluated by adherence to deadlines regarding the submission of journals and samples of work. The student will also be responsible for the submission of an evaluation form, compiled on completion of the course by their placement supervisor.
