This course introduces students to the medium of photography and the visual requirements of both news and feature pictures. A basic 35-mm camera with manual controls is recommended to maximize the learning, although students may get by with good quality auto-focus equipment. College-owned digital cameras will also be used. Part of the course consists of computer workshops to begin photo enhancement and other editing techniques.
