The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the role and function of freight forwarders and the detailed aspects of logistics-related documentation. Students will be introduced to documentation requirements including quoting, arranging for and packaging shipments, obtaining insurance, as well as securing payment along with the identification and management of security in the movement of goods. Students will apply their knowledge through the preparation of a variety of shipping, payment, insurance and quotation documents related to the shipment of a product to a foreign market.
