The purpose of this course is to draw on current international issues, events and activities and involve students in exploring the impact of these topical areas on the conduct of present and future global business. The course revolves around several themes central to international business, namely progressive globalization, political and economic upheaval in certain markets, the practical application of global investment theories and patterns, cross-national cooperation and integration as well as the ongoing efforts of international institutions to regulate the behaviour or nations and enterprises in their pursuit of international opportunity. All of these topic areas will be connected to and discussed in the context of current global events and their impact on Canada as a trading nation.
