An advanced course deals with the sustainable, environmental and health conscious design, selection, specification and application of building materials, finishes, products and practices. IND 600 is intended to broaden awareness of building environmental and health issues associated with construction materials used in the building design and furnishings. Topics include information intended to assist the designer in making informed products and material choices. Renovation work will also be extensively examined with particular emphasis placed on the uncovering and removal of materials, currently deemed hazardous, prior to installation of new materials and finishes. Summarizing the overall impact of environmental choices and its impact on society.
