This course is designed to introduce to the intermediate level apprentice to the topics of: drive coupling styles and proper application in modern drive systems; coupling alignment and expansion calculations for correct installation within manufactures recommended specifications; belt drives and sheave sizing, configuration and proper installation techniques; belt length and tensioning calculations using trade formulas; chain drive systems, sizing proper installation and maintenance tactics that can be used to properly maintain chain drive systems; proper chain drive alignment and tension calculations; gear systems, gear styles and their appropriate application in power transmission systems;, The course is also designed to help develop knowledge and skill in the correct use of tools in the maintenance and installation of drive system components and the preparation of shaft and drive line equipment.
