This course is designed to introduce to the intermediate level apprentice to the topics of: safety legislation lock-out and knowledge of the applicable standards for maintenance on pumps or compressors; the design and application of the different types of pumps commonly used in most industrial applications; ancillary equipment that is used to control flow and how it is installed; knowledge of the applications and maintenance of pumps, valves and piping; knowledge the different compressor designs and the appropriate maintenance required by each style as well as government regulations and how they apply; knowledge of proper pipe sizing and installation in any setting. The course is also designed to help develop knowledge and skill in the correct use of tools in the maintenance and installation of equipment.
