The objective of this course is to develop and apply the participant's skills and knowledge relative to cost effectiveness and timeliness of a specific supply chain. A key element of this course involves students in the preparation of a supply chain plan including the identification and selection of suppliers, the organization of the production function with an emphasis on quality, the location and functions of warehousing, the use of modes of transportation, consideration of after sales support and the use of third party service providers. Students will use a variety of supply chain concepts and tools including but not limited to EDI, JIT, MRP, and DRP. The supply chain plan will be integrated with the global market plan and global trade finance plan to form a complete project management plan for an international venture.
