This module of study will include classroom theory with practice and experience in selected salons to commence at approximately week twenty-five. Because HDR 104A Hairstyling and Design is a pre-requisite for this course, it forms a foundation on which to build. Topics will include principles of design, facial shapes, product knowledge, various styling aids and their benefits and trends that are important in modern hairstyling. Hair texture, density and length will be key factors for determining the equipment, technique and supplies needed to produce various types of curls and that produce the specific end results. The successful stylist is able to use this knowledge and skill in giving a personal touch to each coiffure so that it is suitable to the individual.
