This course is designed to assist the student in protection of self and others by maintaining a safe workplace environment, wearing protective clothing and practicing the safe use of electrical equipment and light therapy. These topics will include practicing safety procedures specified in product literature, health and safety legislation, practicing first aid, performing patch tests and conforming to Workplace Hazardous Material Infection System (WHMIS) Legislation. The apprentice will be able to perform sanitation procedures according to related health legislation. Employing wet, chemical and ultra violet methods to sanitize all tools and equipment according to the Canadian Health and Welfare Act to protect ones self and the health of the public. The information in this course will be applied throughout this program.
