This course is the second of five courses that prepare the student to challenge the Gas Technician III exam as administered by Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). In this course, the properties and characteristics of fuels (Natural gas and propane) are studied. The potential sources of toxic fumes and how they are formed are covered. Methods of minimizing and/or removing the risk of natural gas and propane leaks are covered. Finally the student will be required to locate and identify different odours and fumes. Testing for CO will be required and if detected the course of action that is required to make safe.
