This course is the eighth of nine courses that prepare the student to challenge the Gas Technician II exam as administered by Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). In this course, the student is introduced to venting practices and vent theory. The importance of proper venting to alleviate the possibility of Carbon monoxide poisoning is strongly re-enforced. The student utilizes the venting tables in order to size vent systems according to applicable codes, local bylaws and manufacturer's specifications. The student will practice installation of different types of vents, venting systems, vent materials that comply with code requirements according to the type, size and capacity of the appliance. The student will use appropriate diagnostic tools to troubleshoot malfunctioning and broken vents.
