This course is the seventh of nine courses that prepare the student to challenge the Gas Technician II exam as administered by Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). This course will involve all the aspects of selecting and installing mid and high efficiency furnaces under 400000 Btu's per hour. The student will apply applicable code and local bylaws concentrating on proper duct installation, vent sizing, pipe sizing and uniform air delivery. The student will demonstrate the use of diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and maintain ignition systems, burner assemblies, control relays and other components of furnaces. Finally, the student will design a working forced air system with all of the applicable components using heat loss and heat gain and air handling knowledge.
