This course is the third of nine courses that prepare the student to challenge the Gas Technician II exam as administered by Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). In this course, the basic fundamentals of mechanical, electrical and electronic controls are covered. The student will identify components and troubleshoot various problems associated with these controls. Students will select and connect motors to control circuits using proper overload protection. Using multimeters and other appropriate tools, the student will apply troubleshooting techniques and effect repairs to inoperative circuits. Critical safety limit controls will be covered and the student will ensure safe and proper operation of these.
